I.C.S.A.’s support of events of note about Sicily continues with our profile of a rich and interesting program of Lectures, Workshops and Seminars, that will be held by La Trobe University during 2013 at La Trobe’s Bandoora Campus, Melbourne City Campus and at the State Library of Victoria.
Of particular interest to people who enjoys learning more about Sicily will be:
1) 23rd March 11 am to 3 pm – “Food and Feasting in Sicily: Easter Celebrations” – Lecture by Prof. Gillian Shepherd, on food and celebration in Sicily, followed by a cooking class on Easter dishes presented by Marisa Raniolo Wilkins.
2) 29th July 6 pm to 8 pm – Trendall Lecture: ” The Epic of Thucydides: the Sicilian Expedition” , Lecture presented by Dr. Chris Mackie
3) 7, 14, 21, 28th August – ” Mediterranean Dialogues” – a series of Lectures and Seminars presented by Dr. Gerardo Papalia, Dr. Gillian Darcy and Dr. Dimitra Gonis.
4) 7th December 11 pm to 3 pm – “Food and Culture in Sicily: Christmas Celebrations” – Lecture by Prof. Gillian Shepherd, on food and celebration in Sicily, followed by a cooking class on XMas dishes presented by Marisa Raniolo Wilkins.
