The Program La Trobe in the City continues in Melbourne with lectures of particular interest to lovers and students of Sicily. ICSA has the pleasure of supporting this important initiative that promotes greater knowledge of the Ancient history of Sicily and of the Mediterranean basin.
In particular, ICSA is interested in signalling:
- 29th July 6 pm to 8 pm – Trendall Lecture: The Epic of Thucydides: the Sicilian Expedition , Lecture presented by Dr. Chris Mackie, Director of the Research Centre for Greek Studies and Head of the School of Humanities, La Trobe University.
- 3, 7, 14, 21, 28th August – Mediterranean Dialogues – a series of Lectures and Seminars presented by Dr. Gerardo Papalia, Specialist in Italian Australian Studies and Honorary Research Fellow at La Trobe University, Dr Gillian Darcy, lecturer in Spanish and Spanish History at the Centre for European Studies at La Trobe University and Dr. Dimitra Gonis. lecturer in Modern Greek language and history at the school of Historical and European Studies at La Trobe University
Certificates of Participation are available upon request for all classes. These can be used towards Victorian School Teachers’ professional development with the consent of the participant’s school.
